Who Is the White Elephant?

I’m a NYC girl who quit her job as a publicist to finish her first book: a nonfiction memoir chronicling the first year in the world of a 30-something widow. The book opens the morning of my 911 call and follows me through meeting my husband’s first wife at the funeral; travels across several continents to spread his ashes; fumbling attempts to date; and finally, heading to Alberto’s homeland of Cuba for the one-year anniversary of his death.

What began in May 2010 as a widow’s blog has evolved into something with a pulse of its own: the unfolding saga of being reunited with my biological daughter; discovering my pace and space as a single girl in NYC; the tragicomedy of falling in (and out of) love again; and the onward journey toward publishing my memoir.
